| Notes: | The Horsehead nebula is one of the most photographed of all objects in space, next to the moon and the Orion nebula. In fact, this is actually in the constellation Orion not far from the Orion nebula (M43). The figure that looks like a horse's head is actually a dark nebula which does not reflect light seen in front of the red glowing hydrogen gas nebula being ionized by the star Sigma Orionis. |
