Pen Repairs

Let me start by saying I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL PEN REPAIR PERSON. I am a hobbyist who tries to help out a little to those who need very basic services, inexpensively. There are a few limited things I do for people and I charge very little for my services. The service I offer includes:

Resac pens - Remove section, remove sac, inspect pressure bar, clean section/nib in ultrasonic cleaner, glue in new sac, reassemble, test. Lever/button/crescent fillers.
Minor nib adjustment - Straighten out slightly bent tines.
Minor flow adjustment - Widen/floss nib slits, clean feeds.

What I specialize in is doing medium to large quantities for people who want the pens to work and then either resell them at shows, give them to kids, or stash them away. This service works well for antique dealers or flea market vendors who want a cleaner, reconditioned product to maximize their earning potential. I use the appropriate tools, you will not catch me using vise grips to remove your section. I also flat refuse to work on expensive pens, please do not send them to me.

My fee is extremely low per pen in labor and sac, if you need a pressure bar they are extra, snorkels have an additional charge for seals. For that I replace the sac, adjust the flow as needed, clean and polish the pen (polish to me means a VERY light buffing by hand with basically a cleaner. I do NOT use a wheel, ever, or harsh polishing compounds). I am open to quantity discounts if you have quite a few you need done, as well as working for trades which is what I prefer (got a watch or pen I might be interested in?)

Pens I repair include:

Virtually all lever/button/crescent/etc fillers
Sheaffer touchdowns
Eyedroppers
Aerometric fillers
Cartridge converter fillers
Sheaffer snorkels

Pens I do not repair include:

Vacumatics
Eversharp skylines (unless you understand they are very prone to breakage)

If you have an expensive pen, a different filling system, or have a pen that writes but has a scratchy nib, or just need a real professional, I suggest Danny Fudge at The Write Pen. If you have a nib in bad shape, or needs a new tip, I suggest Greg Minuskin.
