Re: Guiding question

If your guide camera is off by 1 pixel, that will move BOTH your guide scope and imaging scope 2.68 arcsec. If your imaging scope moves 2.68 arc/sec and the resolution is .818 arcsec/pixel that means it will move (2.68/.818=3.27) 3.27 pixels, or since there is no fractions of a pixel on your camera ...

Re: Where did you get that adapter on page 173??

You are correct, that silver ring is indeed a custom adapter. I found a local machine shop and took him the parts I needed to join together. He had no problem fabricating one out of a solid block of aluminum. If you do this, be sure to tell them you need the inside as wide open as possible. The smal...

Re: Current status of the book Getting Started: Visual Astronomy

I had a big burst of energy to pour into this book, and it was closer to being done than I thought. I guess I was so used to writing about astrophotography that when it came to visual I really over estimated what I needed to make the book what I wanted. Regardless, the book looks good and is in pret...

Re: DVD request

Pete, It seems that my cat (I am going to blame it on the cat anyway) knocked a few orders behind my desk, and yours was one of them. I have burned the DVDs and am sending them out Monday morning. I am also returning your check uncashed, along with my apologies. Thank you very much for letting me kn...

Re: Which Atlas to buy

I have not yet acquired one of the pro mounts although it is indeed on my short list. I have heard a lot of good and no bad so far. The features are hard to beat for the price. Once I do get one I will be sure to post a review on my blog. If you get one I would be interested in hearing your thoughts...

Re: Current status of the book Getting Started: Budget Astrophotography

The Kindle version is in process. The main book is now available under regular searches and already has the "look inside" complete. My first copies should be here tomorrow.

Thanks everyone!

Re: Current status of the book Getting Started: Visual Astronomy

Things are looking quite good. With some of the charts I am researching to put in the book I am pretty sure this book will be in my bag when I leave for the dark site. I am making sure to include upcoming conjunctions, lunar & solar eclipses, and transits. If nothing else this book has been a lot of...
