Filter to Counter Aberration

Post by Tango Charlie » Wed Aug 08, 2018 11:42 am

Greetings. I have an Explore Scientific AR152 achromatic refractor. Later in time perhaps can afford an APO. What lense filter (s) do you recommend to counter aberration encountered by an achromatic? Thanks!

Baader Planetarium makes a Fringe Killer https://amzn.to/2Srnzlf which I have heard good things about, they also make one called the Semi-APO https://amzn.to/2VmXmGi which has had some good reviews. Keep in mind that any filter's performance will depend heavily on your particular scope and eyes. What may work for one person may be terrible for another. Just make sure you order the filters from some place with an excellent return policy and give them a try.
